Theatre Management

The Theatre Management specialization within the BA in Theatre prepares students to lead and innovate across the performing arts industry. Designed for those who want to combine a passion for theatre with business and organizational skills, this track blends a liberal arts foundation with practical, real-world management experience.

Students gain hands-on training in areas such as budgeting, marketing, production management, and audience development, while learning to navigate both commercial and not-for-profit models of theatre production. The curriculum emphasizes collaboration, leadership, and adaptability—essential skills for thriving in today’s evolving arts landscape.

Students benefit from:

  • Coursework focused on producing for commercial and regional theatre, arts administration, and emerging industry trends
  • Access to guest lectures from Broadway producers, Tony Award winners, and industry executives
  • Hands-on experience supporting dance, musical theatre, drama, and developmental productions
  • Opportunities to pursue a secondary major or minor in a complementary discipline
  • Optional New York Immersion experience and a culminating comprehensive theatre project

Graduates are well-prepared for careers in producing, arts management, operations, and administration—or for advanced study in fields related to the arts and entertainment industries.
