School of Music Ambassadors (SOMA)
School of Music Ambassadors (SOMAs) are a select group of students in the University of Florida’s School of Music who have demonstrated outstanding academic success and student leadership.
The objective of SOMAs is to assist the academic mission of the School by providing support to the staff of the Undergraduate Student Services and the School as a whole. An ambassador meets this objective by providing presentations on the School and its mission and goals, serving as a peer advisor, giving a voice for the School and its student services, assisting with all aspects of audition days, recruitment, serving as hosts in a variety of School of Music functions as well as providing a link between the SOM and its alumni.
Serving as an Ambassador is an honor and distinction. No academic credit is offered and the experience can be 1-2 years in length.
