Master of Music in Music
The Master of Music (M.M.) at the University of Florida offers advanced, focused study for musicians ready to take their craft to the next level. With concentrations in performance, composition, conducting, music theory, musicology and sacred music, the M.M. prepares students for careers in performance, teaching, scholarship or continued doctoral study.
Graduate students work closely with nationally and internationally recognized faculty in a supportive, research-driven environment. You’ll refine your technique, deepen your academic understanding and develop your artistic identity through studio instruction, ensemble work, seminars and independent projects. Competitive assistantships and fellowships are available to qualified applicants.
As an M.M. student, you will:
- Specialize in your primary area of musical practice or research
- Perform in advanced ensembles, recitals or conducting projects
- Participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary opportunities
