Undergraduate Advising

Current SA+AH Student Advising
UF School of Art + Art History students, please refer to the SA+AH Undergraduate Advising e-learning course in Canvas for advising information.
Drop-in advising hours are updated weekly.
Advising for Majors Outside of the SA+AH
Changing Majors
Current UF students interested in switching to a major within SA+AH should follow the instructions for attending student drop-in advising hours.
Minor and Certificate Inquiries
Current UF students with questions about the art history minor, art studio minor, or ceramics certificate should follow the instructions for attending student drop-in advising hours.
Please note: During the advanced registration busy seasons of advising (e.g., late March–mid April for summer and fall, and mid October–mid November for spring) we are unable to meet with non-majors to discuss minors and certificates. If you join the advising hours at this time, we will ask that you return at a later date.
Access to Studios as a Non-Major
Most of our studio courses have prerequisites and are reserved for SA+AH majors. However, non-majors may be able to enroll if:
- Space is available after majors have registered, and
- You have a sufficient background in art.
Studio courses for the art minor are not available during your first semester.
For Fall and Summer semesters, we recommend reaching out after April 23 to check availability. For Spring studio classes, we recommend reaching out after December 12. While access is never guaranteed, we’re happy to explore the possibility with you—just get in touch!
Please note: We do not permit students to audit studio courses.
Graphic Design Minor & Certificate
Due to faculty and space limitations, the graphic design minor is not available to students outside SA+AH.
