To be accepted into this program you must also apply directly to the School of Art + Art History via portfolio application at the end of your sophomore year. Please complete the SlideRoom submission linked below, and return it to the School of Art + Art History by the below deadlines. This is strictly enforced. Late applications will not be accepted.
Our graphic design major is limited access. Having the minimum GPA, prerequisite coursework, and portfolio does NOT guarantee admission. Admission decisions are primarily determined by a competitive portfolio application which includes a Response to Prompts, as indicated below. The School of Art + Art History will not accept students whose portfolio does not demonstrate sufficient ability to achieve success within School of Art + Art History programs at the junior/senior level.
The Summer B/Fall deadline for portfolios is March 1st. Please be aware students are only accepted into the Graphic Design program once a year to begin in the Fall or Summer B term.
We use SlideRoom for our portfolio application. The 2025 application will be linked here when open for submissions, we do not accept applications for graphic design transfers in the spring term.
Note: It is highly recommended that you begin working in SlideRoom as soon as possible-you will be able to save your progress and make edits before the final submission. We find that many questions about the portfolio process will be answered for you within the SlideRoom form.
All portfolios must be submitted via a PDF upload to the active SlideRoom link for your application term.
