The College of Public Health and Health Professions joins COTA’s Creative B Summer Program by employing arts practices designed for healthcare students to mitigate stress and nourish career sustainability in professions where burnout is prevalent.
Arts in health leader and philanthropist Margery Pabst Steinmetz has collaborated with the UF Center for Arts in Medicine for nearly a decade to propel the field toward what she describes as the “seatbelt moment”—when engaging with the arts in our daily lives is as natural as clicking on a seatbelt.
Aaron Colverson began his career as a jazz violinist, but while pursuing his PhD in Ethnomusicology at UF COTA, he discovered his niche at the intersection of music and brain health while conducting research with neuropsychologists in the McKnight Brain Institute.
