Master’s Thesis

“Experimental & Community-Based Art Spaces during the Black Arts Movement: Gallery 32 & Rainbow Sign” 

Research explored two California -based Black-woman led art spaces during the Black Arts Movement.

Biography 

Solana Rostick (she/her) is an emerging museum professional with specialized experience in registration and collections management. 

As a critical emerging museum professional, Solana desires to see the art museum not only promote the creativity of underrepresented groups but also within their collection holdings. She is passionate about promoting inclusive, community-focused art and ensuring responsible stewardship of cultural assets.

She has hands-on training at institutions including the Art Bridges Foundation, the Harn Museum of Art, the Florida Museum of Natural History, and the Cotton Club Museum and Cultural Center. As of November 2025, Solana is the Registrar/ Collections Manager at the Clark Atlanta University Art Museum.

Solana graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
