(She/her) I am a board certified and licensed music therapist who has spent most of my career providing clinical services to individuals in various state and federal systems from psychiatric hospitals to correctional facilities. My main areas of clinical focus are forensic mental health and corrections, but also have experience working with individuals receiving hospice care, navigating transplants, and receiving other rehabilitation services . I am passionate about creating spaces where individuals can explore their creativity and engagement in music as part of their larger healing journey. I have a bachelors degree and masters degree in music therapy from the University of Alabama and University of Minnesota, respectively. Outside of my role as a clinician I have managed national and local clinical trials for the Department of Veterans Affairs and served as a reviewer for several articles at the intersection of music therapy and other fields, such as substance use, corrections, and veteran issues. My academic research has mainly focused on exploring the role of music therapy in mental health and psychiatric rehabilitation models. In addition to my professional roles, I also volunteer with various organizations that promote environmental sustainability, reproductive justice, and expanding arts opportunities for individuals who are incarcerated.
