Ronan Shaw

Ronan is a second year MA studying Latin American art with Dr. Silveri and Dr. Burdette. His thesis explores the use of mask imagery by artists in Mexico as a reaction to the changing social and physical landscapes of cities after the Mexican Revolution. Prior to his graduate work, he received degrees in art and art history from Penn State in 2024. He has recently completed curatorial internships with the Harn Museum of Art on UF’s campus and the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia where he worked on upcomingexhibitions. His work explores a range of artists and movements across the Americas, and he has written and presented on art of the Harlem Renaissance, Mexican Muralism,  Afro-Cubanismo, and Brazilian modernism. He is currently working with the University Galleries.
