Maya (she/her) is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida studying psychology and pursuing a certificate in visual arts in medicine. She is a practicing ceramicist and values engaging in abstract physical art making. Maya currently volunteers with patients bedside at UF Health Shand’s Hospital in making art to support well-being, and has served as the youngest artist in Twist Out Cancer’s Brushes with Cancer Winter 2026 program. Her research interests include intersections of mental health and arts based interventions as well as perimenopausal and menopausal influence on psychological function. After graduating she aspires to go into psychiatry and work amongst the intersections of women’s mental health.
