Jenny Goelz

Jenny E. Goelz is the Producing Director at the University of Florida’s School of Theatre + Dance, where she also serves as the Production Manager and Senior Lecturer in Stage Management. She oversees the School’s performance season, guiding 11–18 productions annually through a collaborative season planning process and from initial concept to closing. Her work sits at the intersection of artistic vision and the practical realities of safety, labor, budget, and time, where she collaborates with creative and production teams to develop the plans, systems, and resources needed to realize each production.

Before joining UF, Jenny served as Production Manager and Stage Management Advisor at the University of Arizona’s School of Theatre, Film & Television. Her previous leadership roles include Associate Producer for ArKtype, Engagement Programs Director at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Production Manager at the University of Notre Dame’s DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, Interim Project Manager for DanceMotion USA at Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Managerial Associate and Tour Manager with IMG Artists’ New York touring and dance division.

As a freelance stage manager, Jenny has supported new and established work in theatre, dance, opera, and multidisciplinary performance nationally and internationally. Her dance credits include Mikhail Baryshnikov’s Hell’s Kitchen Dance NYC premiere and international tour, the company debut of Jessica Lang Dance at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and work with Dance Heginbotham and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet. Additional credits include productions and tours featuring Itzhak Perlman, Mikel Rouse, The Baseball Music Project, Eugene Opera, NYC Japan Society, and The Colorado Shakespeare Festival.

At UF, Jenny established the Stage Management Emphasis within the School’s Bachelor of Arts in Theatre degree, which began enrolling students in Fall 2019, and she was recognized with the College of the Arts 2019–2020 Faculty Advising/Mentor of the Year Award for excellence in student mentorship. She has been instrumental in creating professional opportunities for students through industry partnerships and new work development, including the developmental production of Puffs or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at A Certain School of Magic & Magic and the world premiere of The Magnificent Revengers, an innovative exploration into the blurred lines of live performance, interactive storytelling, and video gaming.

Jenny has also played a key role in advancing the School’s production infrastructure by guiding theatre construction and capital improvement projects, including major rigging repairs and the $4.8 million Constans Theatre ceiling repair and production infrastructure upgrade.

Jenny holds an MFA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a member of the Actors’ Equity Association.
