Gabriela Diaz-Jones

Gabriela Diaz-Jones is a first-year MA student at the University of Florida. She graduated from the University of Georgia magna cum laude with a BA in art history in 2024. While at UGA, her research was published in the undergraduate research journal The Classic Journal in an article titled “Baroque Women in Marble as Intimate or Intricate: Comparing Bernini’s Portrait of Costanza Bonarelli to Algardi’s Bust of Maria Cerri Capranica.” She later presented this research at the University of Georgia 29th Annual Women’s Studies Student Research Symposium. She has also presented her research twice at the SUNY New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Symposium. Her current research focuses on Latin American modern and contemporary art with an emphasis on hybridity, feminist inquiry, and religious art.
