Burning Coal Theatre Company’s production of The Iron Curtain Trilogy will feature two UF School of Theatre + Dance alumni, Joel Oramas and Thaddeus Walker. Walker will perform at the company’s theater in Raleigh, North Carolina, and then will go on to perform at The Cockpit in London where Oramas will join the production.
Even with only a few rehearsals before the London performance, Oramas said UF has prepared him.
If there is anything I've learned in my training, it is to trust in my preparation and the ‘homework’ I've done beforehand,” Oramas said. “Even with so few rehearsals, my preparation will be enough and allow me the confidence to play moment to moment.”
Walker said he is looking forward to working with a fellow Gator graduate.
"It's always nice to have a familiar face at rehearsal,” Walker said.
Walker graduated last spring with a BFA in Theatre Performance. He was seen in UF productions such as Ajax in Iraq, Miss Witherspoon and King O’ the Moon at the Hippodrome Theatre.
Oramas also graduated last spring with an MFA in Theatre. While earning his degree, he performed in UF productions including Angels in America, A Servant of Two Masters and Measure for Measure.
The Iron Curtain Trilogy commemorates the 25th anniversary of the fall of both the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain.
