Museum Studies alumni Austin Bell (class of 2012), currently serving as curator of collections at the Marco Island Historical Society, has been awarded the 2015 Museum Excellence Award from the Florida Association of Museums (FAM) for the museum's "Paradise Found" exhibit. Organized by Bell, the permanent exhibit featured the 6000-year history of Marco's indigenous and Calusa Indians and was judged the most outstanding exhibition in the state for 2015.
"For us to have won is a huge honor, a momentum builder," said Bell. "It is affirmation that we are headed in the right direction.”
