Established in 1996, the University of Florida's Center for Arts in Medicine (CAM) is a leading institution in the field of arts in health. PBS NewsHour's Jeffrey Brown recently visited artists in residence at University of Florida's Shands Hospitals, and talked to CAM research director, Jill Sonke, PhD, about the evidence-based, interdisciplinary research and practices in arts in health taking place at UF.
Also in this feature, research assistant professor, Dionne Champion, PhD, discusses the SPARC352 initiative, a partnership between CAM, UF's Center for Arts in Migration (CAME), the City of Gainesville, and local community partners that centers "arts as the core of healthy communities."
