The School of Art + Art History at the University of Florida is proud to present visiting artist Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz on October 3, at 6 p.m. in Little Hall, Room 101 (LIT 101). The Fall 2017 Visiting Artists Lecture Series is free and open to the public. The lectures offer the community an important opportunity to engage in discussions about contemporary art and culture in relation to national and international trends.
Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz
Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz is an interdisciplinary visual and performance artist. Her latest project, Pieta, was presented as part of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery’s IDENTIFY: Performance as Portraiture series. She received a 2016 Franklin Furnace award for performance. Selected exhibitions include Project 35: Last Call, Garage Museum, Russia, The Florida Prize in Contemporary Art, Orlando, FL 2015, Manifesta 8, Spain 2010, American Chambers, Gyeongnam Art Museum, South Korea, Performa 05 biennial, Artist Space, NY; The S Files 05, Artist in the Marketplace 25, Bronx Museum of the Arts; The L Factor, Exit Art, New York.
She received her MFA from Rutgers University and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Culture. She teaches at the University of Central Florida.
