- Description
In honor of the tragic events that have taken place in our country, the University of Florida Gospel Choir has invited the Florida State University Gospel Choir to host a coming together Unity Concert on Saturday, November 5, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The Florida–Florida State rivalry is between the two oldest public universities in the state of Florida. Our stand to come together despite our rivalry will send a message that we can put aside our differences to come together for a greater good.
The theme of the concert is Our Hands Are Lifted. Bringing the two campuses and surrounding areas together will provide a place to encourage unity and hope for our students, society, and nation. We are inviting students from UF and FSU campuses, local community organizations and leaders, local pastors and churches, and law enforcement officials to attend this event.
President Fuchs will commence the event, and we welcome you to join us.
