      Opening reception of star/ghost/mouth/sea, an exhibition of work by junior and senior painting students of Rose Briccetti responding to Soomin Kim’s musical composition of the same name and in collaboration with the UF Symphony Orchestra.

    The UF Symphony Orchestra features the University of Florida School of Music in a variety of ways in their first concert of the spring. 

    UF professor and composer Scott Lee — The Fire Beneath 

    Composer Soomin Kim* — star/ghost/mouth/sea — winner of the 2023 UF Call for Scores by Women Composers

    UF professor and soloist Hsiang Tu — Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major, Op. 83

    also featuring Saint-Saëns — Danse Macabre

    Students from the School of Art will be exhibiting their paintings inspired by Soomin Kim's star/ghost/mouth/sea. Post-concert, the visual art exhibition will move to the UF Music Building where Kim’s music will be accessible by QR code.
