    The School of Music is proud to present the UF Saxophone Ensembles Concert on Monday, November 14, at 7:30 pm in Music Building Room 101 (MUB 101). This concert will feature our celebrated saxophone band, also known as The University of Florida All-Saxophone Festival Orchestra, which includes musicians performing on every size saxophone imaginable, from the tiny sopranino to the monstrous bass saxophone. The combination of so many instruments with rich overtone series creates a sound that can quite often be mistaken for a symphonic orchestra or full wind ensemble. Programming for the ensemble takes advantage of this phenomenon and features transcriptions from the orchestral and wind band literature. Also featured on the concert will be performances two saxophone quartets.  The evening will include music by John Philip Sousa, Gustav Holst, Jean Françaix, Charles Ives and Modest Mussorgsky.
