SHADE

SHADE is the second of two MFA thesis shows by MFA Photography Graduate Marina Sachs. Installed at Good News Arts in High Springs, this exhibition is a selection from Sachs' ongoing 35mm photographic body of work. Resonant with the themes of their first thesis exhibition, SHADE is just as much about what's missing, as it is about what's presented. Through dozens of large-scale color images and small-scale pieces of photographic evidence, Sachs presents their investigation into the photograph-as-trace as it demarcates edges between "fiction," the "true," and the "real."

The closing reception will be held at Good News Arts on Saturday, November 13 from 5pm-7pm and will feature live music, alcohol-free mocktails, and a mini market. An episode of Sachs' live talk show, SOBER BABY, will air in the space at 5pm on Friday, November 12.  Sachs will defend their thesis in the space with virtual access at 3pm on November 4.
