    Based on Ovid’s fifteen-volume work of transformation myths, this spectacularly transcendent adaptation juxtaposes the ancient and the contemporary in both language and imagery. The title refers to the way bodies change into different forms that express the true nature of each character. From the humor of Phaeton’s therapy session to the tragedy of Midas and his daughter, Metamorphoses’ tales shine through with compelling relevance. The play’s famous pool of water on stage is where characters dream of love and longing in stories not so remotely ancient.
