Master Class on "The Generative Artist" with Danny Sharon

Danny Sharron (FABA Theatre, BSBA Marketing '08) conducts a master class, “The Generative Artist,” designed to lead theatre artists to take their careers into their own hands.  Sharron will share his experiences in running a theatre company in New York for seven years, and lead group discussion on creating your own opportunities

Danny Sharron is a Brooklyn-based theater director with a focus on developing new plays.  He is committed to creating work about the LGBTQ+ experience and providing a platform from which the voices of that community can be heard. He is also Founding Artistic Director of UglyRhino Productions, a Brooklyn-based company aiming to make theater a social event by integrating live music, cocktails, and dance parties into the theatrical experience.

Danny most recently directed the world premiere of Jason Kim’s The Model Americal at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and an environmental production of Taylor Mac’s Okay with UglyRhino at Bushwick’s Central Arts.  He has developed work with The Public Theatger, New York Theatre Workshop, Ars Nova, Labyrinth Theater Company, Ma-Yi, Primary Stages, and The Lark.

Danny is an alumnus of the  Ars Nova Director’s Troupe, and is a recipient of New York Theatre Workshop’s 2050 Fellowship, Williamstown’s Bill Foeller Fellowship, and The Drama League’s New York Fellowship. Proud member of SDC.
