- DescriptionIn celebration of the landmark exhibition Ghanaian Fashion’s first chapter, “African Feminism,” MFA Candidate and Ghanaian artist Benedicta Opoku-Mensah will lead students through a collaborative macramé handbag creation. Paired with the excellent garments by Aisha Ayensu, these handbags make the perfect complement to explore the ways in which Benedicta thinks about feminism functions in Ghana.
All materials for the workshop will be provided. No experience required

Because of this limited opportunity, we ask that students be mindful of their spot and let us know ASAP if they are unable to attend so someone else can have their seat. We also ask that participants bring an item that makes them feel powerful, has meaning, or is uncommonly expected in a purse/bag.
