- Description
By Branden Jacobs-Jenkins
Directed by Manuel Simons
Adapted from the medieval morality play Everyman, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s Everybody is a symbolic journey through life in which the title character, Everybody, searches for a companion—Somebody—who will accompany them to their appointment with Death. Representing the randomness of death, each of Somebodies is assigned by chance at each performance—resulting in many different combinations. Each of these actors must memorize the entire script and be prepared to play any role. This fresh take on a timeless tale playfully satirizes contemporary culture while reminding us that life is a gift. - Links
