Dreamscapes: Group Exhibition

Dreamscapes showcases the talents of five local artists: Kali Geiger,
Rebecca Matson, Stephanie Perez, Sami Rose and Jeanine Tatlock.
While each artist brings their own unique style to the table, their works
harmonize with one another thanks to shared formal qualities and
conceptual themes.

These artists share certain formal qualities such as color, texture,
and narrative. From candy-colored pastel skies to dark nocturnal
scenes, their collective encompasses a broad spectrum of textures and
atmospheres. Drawing inspiration from 20th-century painting
techniques, they incorporate elements like the bold brushstrokes of
impressionism, the dreamlike surfaces of surrealism, and the uncanny
spaces of pop art.

Each artist interprets the concept of a dreamscape in their own way,
exploring the realms of dreams and the landscapes they evoke, ranging
from the serene to the unsettling. Despite these varied
interpretations, they all share a connection to Gainesville’s artistic
community.
