  • Description

Join us for "Celebrando Amistad: GRAMMY® Celebration" concert, presented by Jim & Sharon Theriac. This exciting event is led by multi-GRAMMY award-winner and UF Music Business & Entrepreneurship professor, Dr. José Valentino Ruiz. This unforgettable concert will showcase performances by College of the Arts leadership, UF School of Music faculty and students, UF Center for Arts, Migration, and Entrepreneurship director Osubi Craig, and talented community musicians from Gainesville and Tampa. The concert will be a dynamic fusion of musical styles—including classical, hip hop, Latin jazz, funk, Top 40 pop, R&B, and American Songbook classics—along with world premieres celebrating the richness of friendship and diverse cultures.

We will also be honoring the recent Latin GRAMMY® nomination for Best Instrumental Album of the Year for "Claude Bolling Goes Latin: Suite for Flute & Latin Music Ensemble," featuring Dr. Ruiz as flutist and co-main artist, with UF professors Drs. Ciulei, Arkoudis, and DMA student Denis Vasenin as part of the album’s executive and marketing team. Don’t miss this celebration of musical unity across generations and cultures!
