Navigating Complicated Grounds in Ghanaian Art Practice: From Obscurity to Emerging Talents

Dr. Samuel Nortey is an Associate Professor at the Ceramics Section of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Ghana. With a PhD in African Art and Culture and a degree in Ceramics from KNUST, Dr. Nortey works both as an artist, art historian and art educator. Nortey works with both contemporary and traditional artists and has a niche in developing the design thinking of local potters in Ghana and expanding their frontiers of ceramic production.
