Making the Undoable Doable: The Art and Science of Expert Practice.

This 50-minute workshop will explore mechanisms of human learning that underpin effective individual practice, empowering music students to maximize their learning in whatever practice time they have. All singers and instrumentalists are welcome!

Dr. Micah Killion is a performer, teacher, researcher, and Gainesville native. He is the former principal trumpet of the United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC, and his work exploring music teaching and learning has been published in the Journal of Expertise, Music Educators Journal, and the International Trumpet Guild Journal. Micah is a Yamaha artist and clinician and currectly serves as Brass area coordinator and assistant professor of trumpet at Montclair State University.
