Silent Movie Accompaniment

UF School of Music alumnus Matt Gender returns to the University Auditorium to accompany two short silent movies using the resources of the Andrew Anderson Memorial Pipe Organ. During the silent film era (mid-1890’s to the late 1920’s), the theatre organist would often provide improvised musical accompaniment as patrons enjoyed the drama unfolding on the screen. Tonight, Gender will accompany two iconic horror-comedies: Haunted House (Buster Keaton) & Habeus Corpus (Lauren and Hardy). Join us for an evening of old-fashioned fun!
