Join us for a HESCAH lecture by Dr. Rebecca M. Brown, Professor of the History of Art at Johns Hopkins University.

Rebecca M. Brown is Professor of the History of Art at Johns Hopkins University. She specializes in colonial and post-1947 South Asian art and visual culture and has served as a curator of modern and contemporary Indian art at the Peabody Essex Museum, as well as the Walters Art Museum and the Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation. Currently, Dr. Brown is working on a research project that explores the “ecology of human-animal-plant mutuality” in the work of Indian painters KCS Paniker, Palakunnathu Matthew, and Rina Banerjee.
