Field Tests

“Field Tests” presents new student work from upper-level ceramics and sculpture classes, treating the
form of the exhibition as both experiment and inquiry. Each project is a test of methods, systems, and publics — provisional models set into relation with one another, resistant to closure. Here, “field test” also names more than trial: it asks what the field itself might be. How might sculpture and ceramics define, overlap, or destabilize their disciplinary edges? Together, these works occupy the gallery as a testing ground where results are live and subject to revision.
