Faculty Piano Recital: Hsiang Tu

Taiwanese-American pianist Hsiang Tu, praised by The New York Times for his “eloquent sensitivity,” serves as an Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Florida while maintaining an active performing career. In 2025, Tu performed Ravel’s complete piano solo works across Croatia, Peru, Taiwan, the U.K., and the U.S. to celebrate the composer’s 150th birthday anniversary, with a 2-discs album released on Da Vinci Classics in early 2026.

After winning The Juilliard School Concerto Competition and debuting at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, Tu has performed at MoMA in NYC, Jordan Hall in Boston, Cardiff National Museum, Sendai Youth Cultural Centre in Japan, and the National Recital Hall in Taiwan. Tu holds M.M. and D.M.A. degrees in piano performance from The Juilliard School.
