Balloonfest ‘86

Inspired by Balloonfest ’86—a spectacle of celebration that tipped into disaster—this exhibition gathers group-created monuments that consider our current moment and imagined futures. Built collaboratively, each project explores what groups choose to celebrate or catastrophize, developing conceptual ideas and constructing them to a monumental scale.
