Brandon McKinley is the Public Relations & Partnerships Specialist at the College of the Arts. He develops and implements communications strategies that elevate the college's programs to a variety of audiences, including students, alumni, donors, community members, and peer institutions. He manages the college's storytelling and news initiatives to align with the goals of the college's strategic plan and to position thought leadership in broader media outlets. He serves as editor for the college's In the Loop website and e-newsletter, Rise Advancement newsletter, and annual alumni and advancement magazine, Muse.
Brandon supervises the team of communications interns, who together curate content for the college's flagship social media accounts, produce photography and videography projects, and write stories for various publications. He also manages media relations with local and state outlets, produces marketing content for college events, and assists with communications for the dean. In partnership with the college's Advancement team, Brandon collaborates in creating communications strategies for fundraising, stewardship, and alumni engagement.
Brandon is a percussionist who studied under Dr. Kenneth Broadway at the UF School of Music. An avid marching band fan, he performed with INFINITY Percussion in Orlando, Florida, and teaches high school percussionists in competitive marching programs.
Brandon received his Master of Arts in Mass Communications, Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, and Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida.
