Carlos Alberto Cordero is originally from Puerto Rico and moved to Florida in 1998. He started that same year with UF in Disbursement Services, supervising the Travel Office. He was also involved in training UF personnel during the transition to PeopleSoft.
He obtained a BBA in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His background has been in general accounting, banking, and administration. While developing his career, he also worked as Adjunct Professor of Finance at Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.
After a 6 year absence working as Director of Administration for Gainesville Job Corps Center, Carlos returned to UF to join the Digital Worlds staff in August 2013. He serves as the Business Manager and oversees budgeting, financial reporting, human resources, and all financial transactions of the Institute. He provides technical, fiscal and administrative assistance to staff, students and primary investigators at the Digital Worlds Institute and the College of the Arts.
In his free time, he loves jogging, latin dancing and karaoke singing. He is also re-learning French and Halloween is his favorite holiday.
