A native Floridian, Eric Heumann received a PhD in Music Composition at the University of Florida in 2022, where he studied with Paul Richards, James Paul Sain, and Scott Lee for music composition, and Laura Ellis for sacred music. Eric’s music has been performed across the United States by prestigious groups such as the Bold City Contemporary Ensemble, the Apollo Chamber Players, the JACK Quartet, and most recently, the Florida Orchestra, after winning their 2019 student composer competition. Eric currently resides in Ocala, Florida with his wife, Mezzo-soprano, Emily Heumann, and their son, Lucas.
