Angela M. Santiago is a bassoonist, and an educator artist who completed her Doctor of Music Arts degree at Stony Brook University where she also graduated with a Master of Music in bassoon performance with world-renowned bassoon pedagogue Frank Morelli. Dr. Santiago has performed in different countries: Spain, Armenia, Puerto Rico, United States (New York City, Springfield, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Virginia, New Jersey) and venues like Carnegie hall in NYC. Dr. Santiago supports diversity, equity, and inclusivity through performing underrepresented composers and educating the audiences about different music styles by researching composer’s identity and culture. Dr. Santiago is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida teaching the course of Strategic Music Entrepreneurship Development where she thrives in cultivating music students artistic identity, music business skills, performance skills, and other musicianship skills to increase marketability for employment post-graduation. Dr. Santiago is passionate of performing new music, exploring all the possibilities in her instrument and equally excels in the orchestral and chamber ensembles repertoire from Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods. In addition, Dr. Santiago has developed a strong experience as a manager in her current job with MIFA Victory Players as ensemble manager and as a production manager.
