Devan Johnson is the Undergraduate Advising Assistant for the School of Art + Art History. Her duties include answering prospective students’ + parents’ admission questions, offering enrollment and advisement support to current students, and coordinating SA+AH events and tours in conjunction with the student ambassador program. She also supports the preparation of the SA+AH’s schedule of courses and overall operation of the Undergraduate Advising office.
Devan received her B.A. in English Literature from Brandeis University and her M.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Florida. Following graduation from her M.A. program, Devan worked as a victim advocate at Jacksonville’s certified rape crisis center. Most recently, Devan returned to UF’s Center for Gender, Sexualities, and Women’s Studies Research, where she taught as an adjunct instructor and served as interim Undergraduate Coordinator. She is thrilled to be able to continue working with students in the School of Art + Art History. Devan is a writer, and published her first book, a romance novel, in 2018.
