Biography

My name is Luana Souza and I am a third-year Health Science Major. I was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, but my family is from Brazil. 

Since I began my journey at the University of Florida in 2018, I knew I wanted to pursue something in the health field but I wasn't quite sure what that entailed. Spring of 2019, I took the class Arts in Medicine in a Global Context and it completely shifted my perspective. I knew my soul was searching for something more, and it happened to land in the realm of Arts in Health. 

My creative outlet is multimedia: primarily, photography and videography. My camera gives me the ability to have control over the times of the unknown, and it became the exact prescription I needed. Whatever we are passionate about in life should be used to bring awareness and catalyze the actions we take. However it may look, I am excited to meet at the intersectionality between my career path and everyday joys.
