Biography

Named BEST ACTOR at the Florida Comedy Film Festival for his portrayal in a 3-time OFFICIAL SELECTION musical short and a recent recipient of the Joseph Glover Scholarship for Excellence in Musical Theatre (2020), Matt Guernier is a passionate Performer (i.e. actor, singer and dancer) and Connector (i.e. communicator, coach/educator, consultant). Specializing and flourishing in the musical theatre canon, with notable experience in straight plays, he’s performed in over 20+ stage productions from Tennessee to Nebraska and has performed lead and supporting roles in 10+ films.

While currently training in the University of Florida’s BFA Musical Theatre program (junior), he’s actively pursuing a Master’s in Business Management and has an eye on talent management/casting in the future. Additionally, Matt is currently developing a database to help connect artists to information about summer work (“Summer Stock”) opportunities.

Matt is thrilled to be back with the College of the Arts’ Communication Team for his second semester!
