Shaza Jendi

Biography

Shaza Jendi received her B.F.A. in Design Management from the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and her MFA in Design & Visual Communications at the University of Florida. Before coming to UF, Shaza worked as a graphic designer at Bidaya media (Bidaya Media is a multimedia company responsible for producing and developing (Iftah Ya Simsim), the Arabic version of Sesame Street.)

Shaza is a multidisciplinary creative that focuses on voicing out issues and concerns in communities. Her primary research goals are directed towards improving immigrant children’s educational experience as well as reflecting and representing marginalized communities. Her future research plans are aimed towards the formulation of new concepts on community engagement and developing models that will benefit the community, students, and teachers. When not working or teaching, Shaza spends time with her family and enjoys learning about different cultures.
