Current UF Students

Non-Performance Muisc Minor
No audition required. Please contact the Undergraduate Music Advising office at music@arts.ufl.edu or stop by MUB Room 106 to confirm eligibility and receive instructions for pursuing a non-performance music minor.


Music Major, Performance Minor, or Performance Certificate please review the Audition Requirements, complete the School of Music Application.

All materials should be submitted to music@arts.ufl.edu

 Pre-Screening Requirement (Piano Only)

Submission Deadline:
August 15, 2025 (Fall 2025)
January 15, 2026 (Spring 2026)


Submit a video recording of at least 10 minutes of recent piano performance (recorded within the past six months). Your recording should include at least one complete piece or movement, though you may include multiple pieces if desired.

  • Memorization is mandatory
  • You may choose to perform the same pieces in your live or recorded audition if invited, but this is not required
  • If you choose to submit a recorded audition, you may use any or all of your pre-screening recording as part of your final video submission
  • Videos must be submitted via a video sharing platform such as YouTube or Vimeo (please ensure visibility is set to “unlisted” or “public”)

Please ensure all video links are active and accessible at the time of review.

 BS Music Business and Entrepreneurship Portfolio

Submission Deadline:
January 22, 2026 (Fall 2026)


Prior to attending an audition, students interested in the BS Music Business and Entrepreneurship degree must submit a portfolio. Please review the portfolio materials here. All portfolio materials, including audio/video recordings via cloud service or YouTube/Vimeo links must be submitted to music@arts.ufl.edu. Please double-check visibility of shared documents/videos is set to ‘unlisted’ or ‘public'.

Music Major*, Music Performance Minor, or Performance Certificate

An audition is required for all students applying for a music major, music performance minor, or performance certificate (Additional portfolio required for BS Music Business & Entrepreneurship). It is not possible to become a music major if the student does not exhibit sufficient performing competence. We allow current students the opportunity to audition during fall and spring semesters, as well as our scheduled audition days.

*Music Major: Students are encouraged to change their major to music during the first year at UF to ensure timely graduation.

Audition Dates - Students may audition during any of the following times (select on your application)
•  During the first week of classes (Fall/Spring dates TBD by area)
•  During end of term juries (in December or in April - dates TBD by area)
•  During our Regular Scheduled Audition Date for incoming first-year and transfer students.
