Gabriela Gonzalez studied on the program's Music track in Summer 2019 and wrote about it for our blog, The Global Gator! Read about her experience on UF in Salzburg here.
Hayli Parks studied on the program in Summer 2018 and had this to say:
"I chose to participate in UF in Salzburg partly because of my own familial ties to the region, but I mainly because of its relevance to my fields of study (European politics and history). Learning about European politics, economic policies, and culture while in Europe is so much more informative and relevant than classes at UF. While UF professors do an amazing job, it’s different to learn about these subjects from a local professor who studies and experiences it. I’m the first person in my family to travel outside of the US, so just having the opportunity to see and experience the culture and history of Germany and Austria was so unique from any other experience I’ve ever had. Visiting the palaces in Vienna or the Habsburg crypt, touring Munich and visiting the court room where the Nuremberg Trials occurred, visiting the UN as a Political Science major etc. were all amazing experiences where I felt surrounded by the history I had studied for so long. Studying abroad in Austria inspired me to focus my studies in a particular area and era. While my interests in Political Science and History were initially broad, after my time in Salzburg I was inspired to study Cold War political culture and history and this was reflected in my future classes."
