University of Florida International Piano Festival

UFIPF assembles promising young pianists for lessons and masterclasses with distinguished piano teachers from North America and across the globe. Originating in 2007 as the Chinese-American International Piano Institute (CAIPI), the event has hosted some of the finest performers and teachers from around the world.

Artist Division

Highly advanced applicants who are currently enrolled at undergraduate and graduate programs, or recent gradutes, will be selected for the College Div. Participants will be assigned to rotating study groups, giving each student the opportunity to receive a lesson or masterclass from each member of the faculty, four lessons. In addition to morning lessons, participants will be invited to perform in the evening recitals, both solo and piano duet pieces. Artist Division participants are invited to compete in the festival competition. No age limit.

Young Artist Division

Young Artist Division is open to progressing pianists, age 13 or older (or younger with special permission from the festival director). Academy students will receive three lessons (or two lessons and one masterclass) from UFIPF faculty as well as duet coaching. Additionally, the participants will receive classes in music theory and piano literature. All the Young Artist participants are invited to perform at the festival's final competitive concert.

Please Note: Enrollment is limited. The application deadline is April 1, but applications will be considered as they are received. Participants will be notified upon acceptance and given instructions for completing their registration.
Enrollment for the Artist Division and Rising Artist Division is audition-based.
