New music education books feature chapters by William Bauer

William Bauer, Ph.D., associate professor of music education and director of the School of Music’s MM in Music Education Online Program, recently had two book chapters published.

"Music Curriculum and Assessment: The Role of Technology" was published in an important new volume about curriculum and assessment in music education, Musicianship-Focused Curriculum and Assessment  (GIA Publications, 2015), edited by Colleen Conway.

“The chapter provides research-based insights related to the integration of technology into music curricula and the assessment of music learning,” says Bauer.

Bauer also co-authored "Instrumental Music Learning and Technology” with Dr. Rick Dammers in Engaging Musical Practices: A Sourcebook for Instrumental Music  (Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, 2015), edited by Suzanne L. Burton and Alden H. Snell II. The chapter describes ways in which technology can be utilized by instrumental music teachers to enrich classes and rehearsals, providing students with a comprehensive music education.
