Art history alumna wins national award for curatorial excellence

Leslie Anderson (MA Art History '06) won a 2018 Award for Excellence from the Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) for curating the reinstallation of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts's American and regional art collection.

Titled American and Regional Art: Mythmaking and Truth-Telling, the reinstallation is one of four exhibitions in North America to receive this recognition, and the only one among institutions with an operating budget of under $5 million. Curators at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Smithsonian's American Art Museum and National Museum of African Art were the other honorees in the exhibitions category.
