  • Description

Perhaps the most popular title in the world, La Bohème, presented by the University of Florida College of the Arts and UF Opera Theatre, brings together a group of friends struggling to survive in 1830s Paris. Their passion for life and their art coupled with a love for one another, through good times and bad, propels the story to a grand climax that brings millions to their feet year after year with applause. This timeless tale has been told in countless versions, from Broadway’s RENT to the soundtrack of the Oscar-winning movie Moonstruck. Generations have been enthralled with this magnificent tale of romance between two star-crossed lovers.

An internationally accomplished cast of performers is joined by the 60-piece University of Florida Symphony Orchestra to bring Puccini’s lush score and memorable melodies to life. With a magnificent set courtesy of the Sarasota Opera, this is an evening of entertainment for the ages and for all ages not to be missed!

Sung in Italian with English translations projected above the stage.
