After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Piano performance from Ewha Woman’s University in Korea, Dr. Kang attended Northwestern University to further her education.    She received her Master of Music and Doctor of Music degree in piano performance from Northwestern University, where she studied with Dr. David Kaiserman.  She also attended the Gnesin Institute of Music in Moscow, Russia and received a Piano Performance Certificate studying under Arkady Sevidov, one of the top prize winners of the Tchaikovsky International competition.   While Dr. Kang attended the Gnesin Institute of Music, she was invited to perform as a guest artist in a concert series.

Dr. Kang has distinguished herself as a concert soloist as well as a chamber musician with her piano trio group. She performed with Northwestern University Philharmonia Orchestra as a soloist by winning the concerto competition.   Dr. Kang and her trio performed with Northwestern Orchestra and had the honor of performing in the master classes of Nelita True, Menahem Pressler, Peter Slovik, and Colorado Quartet.  She also appeared regularly as a guest artist in a concert series sponsored by the Korea Times and the Korea Central Times in Chicago. In the past several years, she has been invited to perform with The Village Philharmonia Symphony Orchestra and had numerous solo recitals in Florida.   Dr. Kang is also known as a renowned clinician, with her students winning several statewide competitions.

Currently, Dr. Kang is an adjunct professor in the School of Music at the University of Florida and is a director of University of Florida International Piano Festival Solo Competition.
