Friends of Theatre & Dance - Begin a Legacy

Begin a Legacy

Thank you for your interest in creating an endowment. With an endowment, you have the ability to make a significant impact and positively influence the College of Fine Arts School of Theatre and Dance. As endowment funds are typically named, they can serve as an ever-lasting honor to an individual or an on-going testament to an organization’s value. The funds invested in an endowment generate a predictable, growing stream of income in perpetuity. Endowments are most often designed to fund scholarships, graduate fellowships, student programs, or professorships; all of which are top priorities at the School of Theatre and Dance.

  • A minimum gift of $30,000 is required to create an endowment.

  •  A minimum gift of $2,000 is required to create a non-endowed scholarship.

  • Gifts of $100,000 or above are eligible for a matching gift of 50%-100% from the State of Florida. The  specific percentage depends on the size of the gift.

  • Gifts may be fulfilled through pledge payments spanning up to five years.

  • Payments can take the form of cash, securities, real estate, bequests, or other forms of payment.

  •  Many employers offer matching gift programs, which could enable you to create an endowed fund with  reduced out-of-pocket expense.

Gifts of at least $2,000 are recognized in the University of Florida’s President Council. In addition to being listed in the University of Florida’s published Honor Rolls, each year you will be invited to a Gala to celebrate and recognize your contribution. The President's Council Gala is just one way in which the University has the privilege of saying 'thank you' for your confidence in the School of Theatre and Dance and the University of Florida.

To leave a legacy for the School of Theatre and Dance and positively influence their program for years to come, please consider the option to endow.
