The Gator Horn Choir performs at a prestigious regional music festival

On Saturday, March 25, 2017 the University of Florida Gator Horn Choir, under the direction of UF faculty member Paul Basler, was a featured ensemble at the annual Florida French Horn Festival at The Plaza Live in Orlando. Over 150 hornists from as far away as Utah attended this popular event sponsored by the International Horn Society. The group performed with Bernhard Scully (hornist with the Canadian Brass and professor of horn at the University of Illinois) on the world premiere performance of Harvest Light composed by alumnus James Naigus. They also combined with the University of Southern Mississippi Horn Choir on Naigus’ Halcyon with the composer conducting. Junior UF performance major Kadin De La Barrera performed in Bernhard Scully’s master class as well. Congratulations to the Gator Horn Choir on their outstanding performance at the festival.
